Admiring a starry sky at Møn and Nyord Dark Sky Park, Denmark, alongside a neolithic structure

Møn and Nyord, two islands in the south-east of Denmark were designated Scandinavia’s first International Dark Sky Park and, simultaneously, International Dark Sky Community. This double accolade reflects the committment of the region to preserving its unspoilt, natural habitats, including the glorious, dark noctural environment. Visitors can take a step back from the fast pace of modern life and revel in the islands’ 223 square kilometres of rural landscapes.
